Sales name Comirnaty intramuscular injection
Efficiency / Effects Prevention of infectious diseasae caused by SARS-CoV-2
Vaccination frequency / Interval 2 times (usually 3 weeks apart) ※Intramuscular injection

  • Person who has medical history of severe hypersensitivity (※2) to the vaccine's ingredients
  • Person who is not in appropriate condition to take vaccination other than afore-mentioned points

(※1) To have obviously fever usually means to have body temperature over 37.5 °C. However, the definition is not always the case when the person's body temperature is below 37.5 °C which is considered to be high in comparison to the person's normal body temperature.
(※2) Meaning anaphylaxis and multiple symptoms which have probability of anaphylactic conditions such as generalized skin / mucous membrane symptoms, stridor (Wheezing), breathing difficulty, tachycardia (Frequent pulse) and hypotension (blood pressure decrease).

Person who needs to be careful with vaccination

Person who meets the following points need to be careful with vaccination. If meeting any of them, make sure to mention it to the doctor during the pre-vaccination consultation.

  • Person who receives anticoagulant therapy, person who has thrombocytopenia (Platelets decrease) or coagulation disorders
  • Person who has been diagnosed with immunodefficiency in the past, person who has close relatives with congenital immunodeficiency
  • Person who has underlying disease such as heart, kidney, liver, blood disorders, or developmental disorders
  • person who had allergic symptoms such as fever and generalized rash within 2 days after vaccination in the past
  • Person who had convulsions in the past
  • Person who may be allergic to the ingredients of this vaccine

For person who is pregnant, has possibility of being pregnant and person who is breastfeeding, make sure to mention it to the doctor during pre-vaccination consultation. This product contains an additive that has never been used in a vaccine before. For person who had hypersensitivity and allergies with medicine in the past, please mention it to the doctor during pre-vaccination consultation.

Precautions after vaccination

  • After taking vaccination, you are requested to stay at the vaccination venue for more than 15 minutes (For person with severe allergic history including anaphylastic shock, feeling bad or becoming unconscious in the past, should stay over 30 minutes.). If you notice any negative physical condition, tell the doctor immediately (Medical staff can cope with sudden side reactions.).
  • Please keep the injected part clean. Taking a bath on the day is all right but do not rub the injected part.
  • Leading normal daily life is OK, but refrain from doing hard exercise and drinking excessive alcohol for rest of the day.

Side reactions

Major side reactions are pain in the injected part, headache, joint / muscular pain, fatigue, feeling chilly, and fever etc. As severe side reactions which might occur with a very low probability, there are shock and anaphylaxis. In addition, this is a new kind of vaccine which may have possiblity of appearance of unknown symptoms. If you notice any concerning symptoms, consult the doctor of vaccidnation or your family doctor.

Relief System for Injury to Health with Vaccination

Vaccination may cause injury to health (Becoming sick or disabled). Quite rare, but it is not to be eliminated and a relief system is available for the matter. In case of injury to health caused by vaccination against COVID-19, relief (Benefit for medical expense, disability pension etc.) is available based on Immunization Act. About necessary procedures for application, contact Novel Corona Vaccine Call Center (0533-56-2210).

Characteristics of the COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by Pfizer

This drug is a messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine, and it is a formulation in which the mRNA, which is the blueprint for the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 (a protein necessary for the virus to enter human cells), is encased in a lipid membrane. When mRNA is taken into human cells through inoculation with this drug, viral spike proteins are produced in the cells based on the mRNA, and neutralizing antibodies against the spike proteins and cellular immune responses are induced, which is thought to prevent infections caused by SARS-CoV-2.
The drug contains the following ingredients.

Item Content
Active Ingredient
  • Trazinameran (mRNA encoding the full-length spike protein that binds to the human cell membrane)
Addtives
  • AlC-0315: [(4-hydroxybutyl) azanediyl] bis (hexane-6, 1-diyl) bis (2-hexyldecanoate)
  • ALC-0159: 2- [(polyethylene glycol) -2000] -N, N- ditetradecylacetamide
  • DSPC: 1,2- distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine
  • Cholesterol
  • Potassium chloride
  • Monobasic potassium phosphate
  • Sodium chloride
  • Dibasic sodium phosphate dihydrate
  • Sucrose

Prevention of discrimination etc. to persons who do not wish to take vaccination

Do not force others to take vaccination nor give them discriminative treatment.

Although vaccination against COVID-19 is recommended to take, it is not obligatory. Vaccination is conducted only when the person gives consent to it after sufficient information is given.

Those who take vaccination are asked to understand both effectiveness and risk of side reactions of the vaccine, and take vaccination with one's own will. Vaccination is not conducted without consent of the person.
Please be cosiderate not to force coworkers and people around you to take vaccination, and not to give discriminative treatment to persons who have not taken vaccination.
Consultation booth for bullying and harassment etc. at work (In Japanese only)
