Vaccination against COVID-19 is being prepared
COVID-19 is spreading nationwide, and the end of the epidemic is not to be found at this point. For preventing infectious spread by securing necessary medication and reducing the number of the dead and serious cases, vaccination against Novel Coronavirus is conducted for whole nation.
Toyokawa city is preparing the vaccination system for its prompt implementation at approval of the vaccine in consideration of priority. As soon as the period of vaccination start is determined, relevant information is notified individually to residents (Coupon〈Vaccination ticket etc.〉is planned.), and on Toyokawa Newsletter etc. in addition to city HP.
About questions concerning vaccination against COVID-19
For vaccination against COVID-19, Toyokawa city opened Vaccine Call Center on March 8, 2021 which accepts questions in general, group vaccination reservation, and procedures for vaccination in other municipalities etc.

- Specified questions about the vaccination itself or points which are not clear can be accepted at Call Center of Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare as well (0120-761-770) (9:00 am to 9:00 pm, open on weekend and holiday). Person with vaccination priority
Since the supply of the vaccine progresses gradually, vaccination is planned to start with some priority rules. At this point, the Central Government defines the priority as follows.
Priority
Medical personnel
- Elderly (Who was born before April 1, 1957 and becomes 65 years old in the fiscal year 2021.) and person who works at senior citizen's facilities etc. ※For elderly,depending on amount and period of vaccine supply, there can be further priority categories from 65 year-old and older.
- Persons other than above mentioned persons with underlying disease
- Other persons
Overview of coupon delivery up to vaccination (Flow chart)
Coupons are first mailed to persons aged 65 and older after April, 2021, and are sequentially mailed to other persons by following the schedule made by the Central Government.
※Schedule is subject to change depending on the condition of vaccine supply
※Please make sure to keep the coupon until completion of the 2nd vaccination.
The period of vaccination
The vaccination for medical personnel is under preparation to enable its start from March, 2021. After medical personnel, the vaccination is scheduled in turn with priority for elderly, persons with underlying disease etc. from April on.
The number of vaccination
The vaccine with pharmaceutical approval (Produced by Pfizer) is 2-time vaccination with 3-week interval. The other vaccine which the Central Government is planning to secure now is likely to be 2-time vaccination with 4-week interval.
Expense
The vaccination is planned to be covered by full public expense. It will be free of charge.
The place and method of vaccination
A person principally takes the vaccination in the municipality of its residence card (Jyumin Hyo). Vaccination places in Toyokawa are planned to be about 70 medical institutions in the city to enable the scheduled vaccination. Toyokawa Shimin Plaza (Citizen's Plaza in Prio building) is planned for the group vaccination venue. For vaccination, reservation is necessary. Please check the enclosed leaflet which is mailed from April with coupon (vaccination tickets etc.) to elderly and sequentially to other persons, or city HP and Toyokawa Newsletter etc.
Others
For taking vaccination, consent of the person is required. Those who are presently under medication or have some physical concerns, please consult your General Practitioner (Family doctor) and decide whether to take vaccination or not. *Persons who take vaccination are requested to understand the vaccine’s preventive effect and the risk of its side effect, then take the vaccination with a will of one’s own. The vaccination is not conducted without consent of the person who takes it.
