Admission to Nursery Facilities, Hoikusho etc.
For using Certified Kodomoen, Kindergarten (Yochien), and Nursery School (Hoikuen), it is necessary to get “Admission Certification”(Shikyu Nintei) in accordance with educational/childcare necessity.
Certifying necessity of childcare
For using Nursery Facilities (Hoikusho) and Kindergarten (Yochien), it is necessary to get certifications in accordance with educational/childcare necessity in addition to “Reason for Childcare Necessity”. Certification is classified in 3 categories as below according to childcare necessity due to guardian’s employment etc. and age of child. Depending on classification, available facilities and admission procedure are different.

Notice 1: Available Facilities
Depending on Yochien, Admission Certification is not necessary. For small childcare establishment (Shokibo Hoiku Jigyo-sho), usage of 0 to 2 year old classes is possible.
Notice 2: Shift in Certification Category
Period of Category 3 is principally from admission day to 2 days prior to 3 year old birthday. Category 2 period is principally from previous day of 3 year old birthday to school admission. However, valid period differs depending on Reason for Childcare Necessity.
Necessary amount of childcare
It is a certification in categories for using nursery facilities in place of guardian when child’s guardian cannot do childcare at home due to work, illness, and childbirth etc. In case of receiving Category 2 and 3 certification, it is further classified as below depending on necessary amount of childcare.

Notice 3: Available Childcare Hour
In case of hoping for childcare over its time frame, application for overtime childcare (charged) is required.
Usage of Nursery Facilities etc.
With category 2 and 3 certifications, for using nursery facilities etc. is when guardian (Including grandparents in same household and possible for childcare 〈with age of 64 years and younger as of April 1 in applied fiscal year〉) meets any of “Reason for Childcare Necessity”

(2)Pregnancy, childbirth
(3)Illness or disability of guardian
(4)Nursing care for family member in same household or in long term hospitalization
(5)Recovery from disaster
(6)Job hunting (Including preparation for business start-up)
(7)Entering school (Including vocational training at vocational school)
(8)Possibility of child abuse and DV
(9)At the time of receiving child-care leave, since there is another child who is using childcare service and continuous use is necessary.
(10)Cases which are recognized by municipalities as similar conditions to above mentioned things.
