Aichi prefecture and the city of Toyokawa provide housing. There are many people who want to rent municipal housing. When city housing becomes available, a lottery is held to decide tenants. Check our public newsletter (kouho) for announcements concerning city housing. Applications are accepted during allotted time periods for Aichi prefectural housing. Specific conditions are considered, such as income and family size. If you meet these conditions, you can apply with the necessary papers. It may take a long time before rooms become available. You may not be allowed to renovate walls or make other renovations in some public apartments.

Each neighborhood has a town association. It distributes public papers and circulates bulletins to inform you about daily life and local activities. It also has voluntary cooperative activities to keep the town clean, hold festivals and disaster drills.
