We collect garbage by category on the specified days.
[Burnable: twice a week]
Put out garbage such as kitchen waste, papers, wood, plastic products, Styrofoam, etc, in the specified red bags.
[Non-burnable: twice a month]
Put out garbage such as earthenware, pots, small electric appliances, kitchen knives, glass plates, umbrellas, etc, in the specified transparent bags.
[Hazardous: twice a month]
Put out hazardous material such as fluorescent tubes, gas lighters and thermometers into the gray box in the designated area.
[Recyclable: once a week]
Put out recyclables such as cans, bottles, papers, used clothes, pet bottles, white trays for food, etc, into the specified boxes or nets in the designated area.
Collection days differ from region to region. Put out garbage in the designated area, on the correct day, at the correct time (from daybreak to 8:30am).
Bring bulky garbage that is larger than the specified transparent or red bags to the Large Garbage Collection Center (Sodaigomi Uketsuke Center). If you canft, call the center and arrange for individual collection. (Individual collection is charged.) In principle the store where you bought your home appliances e.g. TVs, air conditioners, washing machines provide a collection and recycling service. Stores will charge you for this service.
Personal computers are collected by the manufacturer. The collection fee is free in the case of PCs with the recycle mark. In other cases you will be charged for collection.
