Senior Welfare Division 89-2173
This is a new institution to support senior care, not only by the family but also through the whole of society. Those who are insured are mentioned below.
(1) People aged 65 or over
(2) People aged 40 to 64 and who join National Health Insurance or private employees' health insurance.
(1) And (2) differ in premiums, the way of payment and contents of service. The insured should apply to us to be acknowledged as being in need of care or assistance, when in need of or to receive nursing care services. Then, if accepted, the insured will receive an allowance for the services. This will be calculated from the day after the date of application.
Welfare for people with disabilities
Welfare Division 89-2131
Identification booklets are issued to people with disabilities according to the kind of disability and depending on the degree. People with physical disabilities are issued with the physical disability booklet. The mentally handicapped are issued with the mentally-handicapped booklet. Those who have mental diseases and have trouble leading daily life are issued with the mental disability booklet. Those who have the booklets can take advantage of the welfare system.
